Questions and answers
General
What is Oak Wellness?
Oak Wellness is an integrative wellness practice led by Kristin Mrnustik, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC. We want you to experience healthcare differently, with personalized care that helps you feel known, heard, and supported. Together, we explore the bigger picture of your health and create a proactive plan centered on your goals and long-term wellness.
Who leads care at Oak Wellness?
Kristin Mrnustik, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of experience. She leads a small care team that includes registered nurses Jill Johnson, Beth Michelsen, and Jayme Hunt, with Tammi Stuhldreher serving as Wellness Navigator and Marc Bauer, DO, as Medical Director. Meet the practice.
How is Oak Wellness different from urgent care or a typical primary care office?
Oak Wellness is built around an ongoing relationship rather than one-off visits. Membership includes standing check-ins, a personalized plan, and follow-through over time, with quick-care visits also available without a membership after a Personalized Wellness Launch.
What kinds of goals can Oak Wellness help with?
Everyday wellness: weight management, gut health, energy, and acne care. Performance and prevention: athletic recovery, metabolic health, and cardiovascular risk assessment. Hormone and personalized care: PMOS (formerly PCOS), women’s hormone care, men’s testosterone care, and peptide therapy.
Do I have to become a member to be seen?
No. You don’t need a membership to receive care at Oak Wellness. All new patients begin with a Personalized Wellness Launch to review your health history, understand your goals, and create a personalized roadmap for your care.
What happens at the Personalized Wellness Launch?
It’s a deeper look at your health history, where you are now, and what you hope to accomplish. You’ll leave with clear focus areas and next steps, and testing or labs are considered based on your individual needs rather than a one-size-fits-all panel. It’s $225, one-time. See Wellness.
Wellness Memberships
How do memberships work?
Start with the Personalized Wellness Launch, a one-time intake focused on your history, priorities, and wellness plan. Then choose Essential, Active, or Concierge Wellness based on the access, accountability, and follow-up you want.
Membership isn’t just about visits. It’s about having a provider who genuinely cares about your journey, knows your story, and personalizes every step to you. When your care is consistent, personal, and built around you, wellness stops being something that gets overlooked and rushed, and becomes something you build together, with intention, over time.
What's the difference between Essential, Active, and Concierge?
Essential Wellness ($129/mo) — Wellness Optimization Consultations every 12 weeks. Text access is not included.
Active Wellness ($229/mo, most popular) — consultations every 8 weeks, text access Monday–Friday, a quarterly InBody scan, and a peptide discount.
Concierge Wellness ($379/mo) — consultations every 4–6 weeks, a monthly InBody scan, weekly personalized accountability, and priority provider access.
All three include a Comprehensive Wellness Consultation, a supplement protocol and care plan, prescription refill management, and 10% off IV infusions. See Wellness.
What's the difference between a Comprehensive Wellness Consultation and a Wellness Optimization Consultation?
Both are included with a wellness membership. Without a membership, they are available a la carte: the Comprehensive Wellness Consultation is $325, and the Wellness Optimization Consultation is $250.
The Comprehensive Wellness Consultation is a deeper review of labs, goals, and your overall care plan. The Wellness Optimization Consultation is a follow-up visit to review progress and adjust your plan.
Are labs included in a membership?
No. Labs are separate from the monthly membership price.
Can I cancel my membership?
Memberships are billed monthly with no long-term contract. A 30-day written notice is required to cancel.
Do you offer peptide therapy or hormone care?
Yes. Peptide therapy and hormone care, including women’s hormone care and men’s testosterone care, are part of Oak Wellness care. A Personalized Wellness Launch has to have occurred before therapy can begin.
What if I'm not sure which membership fits?
That is discussed with your provider or Wellness Navigator after a Personalized Wellness Launch.
IV Therapy
What is IV therapy, and who is it for?
IV therapy delivers hydration, vitamins, and targeted support directly into the bloodstream. People come in for hydration, recovery after illness or travel, or steady support during a busy season. All infusions are administered by registered nurses with Nurse Practitioner and Medical Director oversight.
What individual infusions do you offer?
Organized by what brings you in:
- Feeling run down: Immunity Boost ($195), Virus Buster ($210), Youth Virus Buster ($185), Hangover Cure ($195), GI Cocktail ($195)
- All-around wellness boost: Meyers Cocktail ($185), Meyers Plus ($210), Meyers Max ($250)
- Everyday hydration: Executive Express ($160), Quench ($99 / $120)
- Train, perform, recover: Recovery & Performance ($195), Youth Recovery & Performance ($160)
- Focused support: Migraine & Pain Relief ($195), PMS Pain Relief ($195), Glutathione Power House ($230)
See IV Therapy for what each infusion includes.
How do I know which infusion to choose?
Each infusion on IV Therapy shows what it is, what’s included, what it’s designed to support, and typical session length. If you’re not sure, email iv@theoakwellness.com to ask for help choosing. Keep symptoms and medical history for your visit, rather than including them in email.
Can I customize or add to my infusion?
Yes. Optional add-ons run $20–35, and wellness members receive 10% off any additional infusion or add-on.
How long does an IV session take?
Most sessions run 45–60 minutes. Quick options like Executive Express run 20–25 minutes, and youth infusions typically run 30–45 minutes.
Do you offer IV therapy for kids?
Yes. Youth Virus Buster and Youth Recovery & Performance are formulated for younger patients with a smaller saline volume.
Can I get IV therapy without becoming a member?
Yes. Individual infusions are available a la carte. Infusion memberships (Recharge and Restore) are for people who want IV therapy built into a regular monthly rhythm.
What's the difference between Recharge and Restore memberships?
Recharge ($170/mo) — one infusion per month from a core menu: Meyers, Recovery & Performance, Pain Relief, Immunity Boost, Hangover Cure, or GI Cocktail.
Restore ($210/mo, most popular) — one infusion per month from the full menu, including Premium infusions at no upgrade cost, plus two complimentary add-ons. Signature infusions (Glutathione Power House and Meyers Max) are $15 more.
See IV Therapy for the full comparison.
What is the Family Bundle?
Two linked IV memberships under one household bill: two Recharge memberships for $320/mo or two Restore memberships for $400/mo, saving $20/month versus two separate memberships. Each person schedules independently.
Is mobile or at-home IV therapy available?
Yes. Individual infusions can be given where you are, and group IV service can come to a celebration, venue, or sideline. Start with IV Therapy for an infusion, or Events for a group.
Is IV therapy safe? What if I have a medical condition or I'm pregnant?
Every infusion is given by a registered nurse, with Nurse Practitioner and Medical Director oversight. A health screening is required before any IV is given. If you are pregnant, have a medical condition, or are unsure whether an infusion is right for you, ask our team how to discuss this before scheduling. Do not send medical details by email.
Are IV infusions covered by insurance or HSA/FSA?
Oak Wellness does not accept insurance. You can pay for infusions with an HSA or FSA card. If you need a reimbursement statement, the practice can provide one for $25.
Quick Care
Quick care is for people who have already completed a Personalized Wellness Launch.
What's the difference between an in-person sick visit and a telehealth sick visit?
An in-person acute sick visit is $99 (one-time, no membership needed). An acute sick visit via telehealth is $65, or $50 for Essential, Active, or Concierge members.
Can I get a prescription refilled without an office visit?
Yes, through a Prescription Refill Visit (telehealth) for $50, for established patients seen by Oak Wellness within the previous three months. Prescription refill management is included with Essential, Active, and Concierge memberships.
What is an InBody scan and how much does it cost?
The InBody 580 provides body composition data including muscle mass, body fat, visceral fat, segmental body water balance, and cellular integrity. These insights help assess hydration, personalize nutrition and fitness strategy, and support infusion recommendations over time.
An InBody scan is $45, or a 4-pack for $125. Active membership includes a quarterly scan, and Concierge includes a monthly scan.
Events & Groups
Can Oak Wellness bring IV therapy to my event or party?
Yes. Group IV service brings mobile IV therapy to celebrations, venues, or sidelines. Guests complete a short health screening first, and licensed nurses provide the service under provider oversight. See Events.
How much notice do I need to book an event?
Two weeks’ notice is recommended, sooner when availability allows.
How is event pricing determined?
Pricing is quoted based on your group size and the infusions guests choose.
Can Kristin speak at my event or lead a workshop?
Yes. Wellness talks and workshops can be arranged directly with the practice. See speaking.
Do you offer on-site community health events like screenings or physicals?
Yes. Community health events including sports physicals, screenings, and wellness pop-ups can be planned on-site.
How do I start planning an event?
